We imagined a girl in ancient time who traveled around 800km from the central city of Nara to Tagajo. The hat has a spinning top, which is a fortunate toy in Japan. The iris on the kokeshi is the city flower of Tagajo. Tagajo city in Miyagi prefecture, where our shop is located, was founded in 8 A.C. It was almost the northernmost government office during the Nara period (710-794) in Japan. That was about 1300 years ago. At that time, there were offices and gorgeous gates around Tagajo area. Because of the anniversary year of 1300 years from the foundation, the big red gate was rebuilt. We would like to celebrate it with kokeshi dolls, by Mayumi Niiyama and Hiroshi Kano. Kokeshi always reflect our history, tourist spots and so on. These are original kokeshi dolls in our shop.
